Dr. Ding is a Distinguished Professor of Computer Science and Executive Director of the Paul English Applied AI Institute at the University of Massachusetts Boston. She served as a Program Director at the National Science Foundation's (NSF) Division of Information Intelligence from 2019 to 2023. She is an IEEE Fellow and has received the NSF Director’s Award in 2022, as well as the 2019 WISAY Distinguished Woman in Science Award from Yale University.
