In April 2026, Patrick Atkinson, a Scottish Rite Mason from Delaware, will lace up his running shoes and set out on a monumental journey, running from Wilmington, Delaware, to Lexington, Massachusetts. This isn’t just a physical test of endurance. It’s a fundraiser to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Scottish Rite Masonic Museum & Library, and a tribute to the role many Freemasons played in the American Revolution, 250 years ago. Patrick, an experienced long-distance runner, will run 333 miles over 8 days. His route will take him through many areas that witnessed historic events during the American Revolution. Patrick is undertaking this extraordinary journey, running 50-60 miles a day, to raise awareness about the museum, to mark the events surrounding the founding of the United States and—most importantly—to connect with people, history, and Freemasons along the way.
