DESCRIPTION:The Lexington Chamber of Commerce with the generous support of Lester E. Savage Century 21/Commonwealth & Aloft/Elements Hotel presents Women-in-Business Series.  This event series includes a segment of around-the-table introductions followed by a featured guest speaker.  In addition to facilitated professional networking\, the series places a particular emphasis on learning from one another and sharing work experiences in a friendly\, open environment. This event will include admission\, light breakfast and coffee.\n\n \n\nOn our March 13th session we will hear remarks from Mellinda Abbott\, founder and chief bean counter at Abbott and Company\, a CPA firm specializing in ensuring the growth\, success and happiness of their clients. \n\nMellinda married her high school sweetheart and is a mother of 3.  She is a serial entrepreneur\, her latest venture is an ice cream shop in Ogunquit\, Maine. \n\nBefore devoting her work full time to Abbott and Company\, Mellinda started her career at a big four Accounting firm followed by over 10 years of executive management experience at two fortune 100 international companies.\n\nMellinda has taught accounting and business courses at Salem State University and Bentley University (her Alma Mater for her BS in Accounting and MBA). \n\nShe is a lifelong learner and truly believes she learns as much from her clients and colleagues as they do from her.
